At Equinox Kombucha, we are passionate about the environment and producing affordable, healthy and sustainable soft drinks that are good for you and the planet.
However, what we really want to know is what you care about the most. That’s why we decided to host a survey, asking participants what they really think about environmental, social, health and economic issues. We would like to thank everyone who took part, we received an amazing 402 responses! So, the results are in and here’s what we found…
Environmental Issues
At Equinox Kombucha, we’re on a mission to make the least impact on the environment as possible. For that reason, we only use the highest quality organic ingredients and are Organic Soil Association certified.
So, that’s what we’re passionate about – now over to you…We asked participants which environmental issue is most important to them: reforestation, clean & green cities, biodiversity or water.
Perhaps unsurprisingly, given the recent devastating news of the Amazon rainforest fires, reforestation shows to be raising the most concern at the moment, with 58.3% of all entrants choosing this over the other three.
Delving deeper, it is interesting to see that reforestation is an important concern among women in particular with 64.5% of females choosing reforestation over other environmental causes.
For 44.4% of male entrants, clean and green cities is the standout issue. From our respondents, the men are more focused on the effects of urbanisation and urban sustainability such as using renewable sources of energy, recycling to reduce landfill waste and reducing overall ecological footprint.
Social Issues
We then asked participants which social issues were most urgent to them: education, community building, cultural diversity or social isolation.
Education proves to be most important with a total of 58.3% of entrants choosing this over other options.
It is 73.9% of all females aged between 18 and 24, and 88.8% aged between 25 and 34 who care most about this issue. Likewise, 66.6% of male participants between the ages of 18 and 24, also cared primarily about education.
Health Issues
Participants were asked which health issues are most important to them: mental health, exercise & nutrition, digestive health or energy & vitality.
Since there has recently been a significant rise in mental health awareness, it comes as no surprise that the majority of entrants, 46.6%, care most about this health issue in particular.
As for exercise & nutrition, 66.6% of females over 55 said that this was most important to them.
Economic Issues
We asked participants what they thought was the most important economic issue: saving for the future, circular economies, saving money now or alternative currencies.
Overall, 55% of all ages and genders care most about saving for the future. Our participants are conscious of how their actions today can affect the future, something that we are passionate about too.
100% of males between the ages of 18 and 24 also care most about saving for the future. Interesting, only 2% of all participants were interested in alternative currencies.
At Equinox, we strongly believe in supporting the livelihoods of local communities and working towards a secure economic future for our local area. That’s why we’ve stuck to our roots and remained in the Calder Valley where our booch brewing venture all started.
We would like to thank everyone who took part. This information helps us to direct our sustainability and community work directly towards topics that are dear to the hearts of our people all over the world. Expect to hear more in the months to come as we move towards becoming a #bcorp and invite you to participate in the process through fun competitions, surveys and events!
