Our mission at Equinox is to positively disrupt the traditional soft drinks market with the very best authentically brewed, organic, sustainable, kombucha possible. We have grown our small craft brewery substantially in the last five years and now want to continue this journey, obtaining more UK retail listings and expanding into Europe so that we can become a household name for alternative, healthy, drinks. We are also a B Corp and as such really want to promote our community investment projects tackling food waste and investing in UK regenerative agriculture projects to offset our carbon and move forwards with our net zero strategy. For this we need your help and your support to ensure that the small Yorkshire underdog can continue to grow – the right way!

Equinox Organic Kombucha is craft brewed, bottled and delivered from our craft, B Corp brewery in the Calder Valley, West Yorkshire, UK. Our organic kombucha core range comes in six delicious flavours (Orignal, Ginger, Raspberry & Elderflower, Wild Berry, Peach & Turmeric and Pink Grapefruit & Guava), plus our unique Espresso Coffee kombucha. We also have two seasonal flavours – Virgin Mojito for the Spring / Summer and Spiced Gingerbread for the Autumn / Winter which both have a growing fan base in our customers! Our River Cottage range of kombucha are four flavours based on the British countryside (Garden, Hedge, Orchard & Meadow) and were developed with Hugh Fernley-Whittingstall in 2020. We are soon to launch another two flavours (Herb Garden Lemonade and Strawberry Cream Soda) to expand this range which is distinguished by the use of organic herb and fruit infusions with our base green and chamomile tea kombucha. Because we brew our kombucha the traditional way, our drinks contain healthy living bacterial cultures and organic acids, perfect for a healthy gut and good digestion. We consistently win Great Taste awards and get 5 star customer reviews so we believe that we are creating delicious, real, living products that have a positive impact on those who drink them!

Kombucha is an ancient fermented tea beverage with its true origins believed to have come from East Asia and Japan over 2000 years ago. When authentically brewed, it is a fermented, naturally sparking and refreshing drink, full of living cultures, antioxidants and botanicals promoting gut health and mental wellness. Kombucha is sought after as a lower sugar, healthier alternative to traditional soft drinks and mixers and for those looking to live a healthier lifestyle and focus on immunity.

Equinox is the UK homegrown company founded in 2012 that has grown 19.9 x in revenue since 2016 and is at the forefront of the kombucha market in the UK. The company is one of the market leading Kombucha brands in the UK (Neilson Sept 21), and the only manufacturer of authentic, craft brewed sustainable, certified organic, gluten free, vegan Kombucha. We have one of the largest *BRC AA certified kombucha breweries in Europe and bottle our drinks on site. This allows us to have end to end control of our craft brewing process. In September 2020 we were proud to be the first kombucha company in Europe to certify as a B Corp! The BRCGS Global Food Safety Standard. BRC provides a framework to manage product safety, integrity, legality and quality, and the operational controls for these criteria in the food/drink and ingredient manufacturing including processing, packing and dispatch. As a drinks manufacturer, the highest levels of food safety are extremely important to us. Every year, we are intensively audited for 2 days on our production areas and quality systems and are proud to have achieved an AA grade for the last 2 years and an A grade for our very first audit in 2019. All of our employees work tirelessly to ensure we are always adhering to the BRC standard and always making safe product, whilst not compromising on the craft element of our product. 

Our company was founded back in 2012 when Yorkshire couple Robbie and Daphne discovered kombucha on a backpacking trip in Asia back in 2012 and brought the kombucha culture back to their kitchen in Yorkshire! In 2013, our MD Daniel met the founders, having become a regular Kombucha drinker during a career break travelling on the West coast of the US. He fell in love with the company and moved up North to work full time from 2016. Daniel is passionate about holistic wellbeing and has a background in international real estate finance and advisory. He has helped the business to grow in revenue and achieve significant equity investment from key shareholders like Yeo Valley and LSG. Responsible for 19.9x revenue growth in 5 years of being MD. 

Equity crowdfunding is where people – the ‘crowd’ – group together to invest in – fund – a company that’s not listed on the stock market in exchange for shares.

A shareholder has partial ownership of the company and stands to profit when the company performs well and increases in value. It goes without saying that all investments have a degree of risk. With startups, there’s a higher chance of loss of your investment, or dilution.

As a shareholder, you own part of Equinox Kombucha. Financially, this means that you will share in the financial success of the business when there’s an exit event, like the sale of the company or IPO, or when dividends are paid. It’s worth noting that these aren’t guaranteed outcomes.

Equinox Kombucha is a private company. This means that your shares are only readily tradable in exceptional circumstances, such as a liquidity event*. Your shares are subject to certain conditions set out in our Articles of Association. There’s always a degree of risk when it comes to investing. Plus, there’s also no guarantee that a liquidity event will occur, meaning that the opportunity to sell your shares may take a very long time. In fact, in the worst case scenario – you may never get a chance to sell and potentially lose your investment.*A liquidity event is an acquisition, merger, Initial Public Offering (IPO), or other action that allows founders and early investors in a company to cash out some (or all) of their ownership shares.

Yes. If you’re part of the Equinox Kombucha community, you’ll be first to know about every step of our crowdfunding journey – INCLUDING the go-live date. Eligible Equinox Kombucha subscribers who have already registered will also be given early access to the Crowdcube, followed by everyone else who has pre-registered. Once we close the round, the completion process starts. At that point, all investors will be emailed a copy of the Articles of Association and advised of the cooling-off period, which is typically seven days. When that period expires, the payment collections process starts and you’re issued your electronic share certificates. Now on-board and fully invested – we’ll keep you up-to-speed with regular investor updates.

No. Registering simply means you’ll be given the first opportunity to invest in Equinox Kombucha when we formally launch our share offer. This is a big advantage because we are operating on a first-come, first-served basis.

We’re extremely confident that we’ll be able to hit our target. However, if we don’t achieve it by the time we’ve allowed, it will then be up to Crowdcube’s discretion whether an extension is offered or if our round is cancelled. In the event of it being cancelled, we won’t take investments from investors.
